New Haven County restaurant G-Zen will officially close its doors on Saturday, April 30, after 11 years in business, according to an announcement from Chef Mark Shadle and Ami Beach.

The owners said they will close the eatery, located at 2 East Main St. in Branford, as they prepare to open G-Monkey Plant-Fueled Fast Food in West Hartford, which they described as a fast-casual eatery with a brand-new vegan menu.

"G-Monkey Plant-Fueled Fast food will be an evolution of our two brands, G-Zen in Branford and G-Monkey Mobile, into a fresh, modern and plant-forward fast food restaurant," the owners said in the announcement.
